The Market at Grelen was founded back in 1990 after Dan Gregg decided to leave his banking career for his one true passion: plants! He took over a corner of his grandparents’ cattle farm and established Grelen Nursery. His expertise was soon in high demand, and the business began to flourish! The property expanded over the next few decades, and in 2012, The Market was created. This spot would take a focus on hospitality, hosting unforgettable events with the heart of Grelen on full display. When you plan your wedding at The Market At Grelen, you are choosing one of the most unique backdrops in all of Virginia!
Details of the Grounds
The Market at Grelen has been created to give you everything you need throughout your wedding day! Before your ceremony, you will have access to luxurious suites where you can get ready alongside your wedding party.
Once your ceremony starts, you will have your choice of spaces! The Half-Moon Garden is always a popular spot, giving you a lush willow tree at the front of the area, ideal for your altar. If you would prefer views of the surrounding rolling hills, the Berry Lawn is for you! This flat, open meadow looks out over acres of countryside.
The Shade Garden is always a great option for your cocktail hour! Your guests can enjoy well-crafted cocktails beneath a string light-illuminated pavilion.
For your reception, The Overlook Tent is the best spot! This tent is going to give you shelter without obstructing the views. As of the time of this post, Grelen is working on The Conservatory, a gorgeous greenhouse that looks as though it’s straight out of the Edwardian Era. The venue plans to open this in the spring of 2027!
