About the Shadow Creek Wedding Venue

Shadow Creek is a family-owned wedding venue that was founded by the Carlyles a little over a decade ago. When the 200-acre parcel of land alongside their family farm appeared to be for sale, Lori and her husband envisioned it as a space for iconic celebrations where they could write unforgettable love stories. Now, over 1,000 weddings later, they use their experience to make sure you can have your dream party!
Details of the Grounds
Shadow Creek features over 200 acres with designated spaces you can use for every second of your wedding day. When you arrive at the property the morning of your wedding, you can head over to the dressing suites inside the barn. The venue has placed these two suites on opposite ends of the building so you and your partner can stay separate before it’s time for your ceremony! That way, there will be ease and comfort knowing that there will be no accidental sneak peeks!
Indoor Spaces
Knowing it is best to prepare for it all, Shadow Creek provides couples with multiple options for their ceremony and even reception. With most spaces able to seat 300, you can have all of your loved ones in a place that is the most comfortable for everyone.
Whether it is the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter, Shadow Creek has many accommodations to make sure your wedding day is comfortable for everyone. During colder months, this portion of the day can take place inside the barn with a backup generator and optional glass doors for the porch to keep unwanted weather out. The barn is the main indoor space on the property. This area is equipped with plenty of restrooms and a full catering kitchen. Guests will have plenty of places to relax and mingle with the multiple seating areas available. Rollaway bars are available and can be moved to align with the day’s vision. Couples can transform this space in many different ways.
Outdoor Spaces
Once the warm season arrives, you can choose from a variety of outdoor spaces. Larger weddings can take place either in the courtyard in front of the house or out in the fields. The back patio offers views of the hills surrounding the venue. From tented weddings to open-air celebrations, this ceremony space has seen it all.
Smaller weddings can happen on the covered front porch. Both indoor and outdoor, the porch is a spectacular place to hold both the ceremony and reception. This space has been home to many cocktail hours and ceremonies. It is truly the perfect canvas to make your own. With easy access to the barn and outdoor area, the porch may be my favorite part of the property.
Cocktail Hour and Reception
Your guests can remain outside and play some lawn games during your cocktail hour. The venue also has a fire pit you can use during this portion of the night. During cocktail hour, your guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres on the porch or get their favorite drinks from the Hitched Bar (an optional add-on).
Once it’s time for your reception, guests can head into the barn for hours of dining and dancing! This space is seriously impressive with cathedral ceilings, raw wood rafters, and statement chandeliers. With a little bit of draping and flowers, it becomes downright romantic! If you do prefer an outdoor dinner, the venue will give you that option.
Photography Opportunities
While there is so much to love about Shadow Creek, my favorite aspect is all the wedding portrait opportunities! This venue offers over 200 acres of land overlooking the hills of Loudoun. The exterior will be ideal for everything from your group photos to dreamy couple’s portraits. You can also use the lush landscaping just outside of the building as your backdrop.
Wedding Details
Shadow Creek is going to provide you with all the necessary wedding amenities while giving you some freedom to plan your dream day! They have a preferred professional list with vendors you can use for your catering. The company of your choosing will have access to their on-site catering kitchen. The venue has two luxury farmhouses you can book out throughout your wedding weekend for easy lodging. They can also let you add on their horses for your wedding photos for an added fee.
Both vendors and guests will have no problem parking, as everyone has access to the onsite parking lot that is sure to fit everyone celebrating.
